EXPERIENCE
ARTYou'll find art everywhere you look in LIHOVAR. From photographs displayed in the Czech Photo Gallery and throughout LIHOVAR's public spaces to street art and David Černý’s Musoleum. This five-story gallery, housed in the former distillery building, will be a host for various cultural events in its unique interiors. In the evening, you can stroll around the Garden of Lights by the world-famous artist Krištof Kintera, located near the Cubist Dvorecký Bridge. LIHOVAR breathes art.

ADMIRE
ARCHITECTUREThe architectural design is the work of Black n'Arch, a studio founded by David Černý and Marcel Soural with the intention of restoring quality to Prague's architecture and interlacing it with art. The LIHOVAR project is shaped by the industrial heritage of Smíchov and the presence of the original refinery, where the preserved components, such as the Erektus chimney and the distillery, now stand as dominant features across the entire site.

Smíchov is in for a major makeover in the upcoming years. At its culmination, it will stand as a progressive Prague district, seamlessly blending living, work, and leisure. Beyond traffic calming initiatives, this area will witness the emergence of over a dozen new development projects, revitalizing unsightly brownfields and deteriorated sections of the district. THE RIVERLIHOVAR is the flagship project in the new Smíchov Riverside area, which trails along the left bank of the Vltava River. It offers riverside living right in the heart of the city, just a few steps from the green parks of Císařská louka, the Děvín and Dívčí hrady, and the pristine nature of Prokopské údolí. Thanks to the new Dvorecký bridge, you can also venture on foot or by bike across the river to explore Podolí, Žluté lázně, and Vyšehrad.

SUSTAINABLE LIHOVAR
The apartments are designed as smart homes with their own ventilation system featuring heat recovery, independently controlled heating, blinds, and other technologies. Beyond comfort, our focus extends to sustainability too. While the lush green LIHOVAR rooftop provides a place for you to unwind, it also serves to keep the building cool during hot months. Furthermore, the roofs are covered with photovoltaic panels and irrigated automatically using harvested rainwater.

The spirit of LIHOVAR – and Smíchov as a whole – is rooted in the legacy of the Industrial Revolution. The area once bustled with engineering frenzy, sugar milling and factory production, earning itself the nickname “The MANCHESTER OF PRAGUE”. The LIHOVAR project is located on the site of one of Prague's largest original distilleries, Fischl & Sons. The distillery once capitalised on the then groundbreaking innovation of using residual molasses to produce alcohol. After production ceased in 2000, the site was left abandoned for over 21 years. It will now be succeeded by the residential project LIHOVAR, which will retain its historical charm and simultaneously become the birthplace of the modern Smíchov Riverside district.
